Meet Geodata IT Staff: Zachary Wood – Manager, Business Development

Zachary Wood began his IT career as a Marine, where he worked in Signals Intelligence and Information Security (2600 MOS). Additionally, he served his country at an intelligence agency in a red team/penetration testing capacity. This experience within intense realms of infiltration would be influential in defining his career. After being honorably discharged from the military in 2004, Zachary learned that there really wasn’t a market for non-government security assessments. During a time when people were driving around with antennas made from Pringles cans looking for unsecured wireless networks, it was unusual for an IT security guy to have a background in intelligence. Thus, his interest at the time naturally led Zachary to the area of information assurance for another intelligence agency. “Back then, a big kick for me was taking my signals intel knowledge and heading over to Lowes.
